Beetroot Halwa

Ingredients:

  • 2 c. grated beetroot
  • 2 c. mawa (milk powder)
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter (1/2 stick)
  • 3/4 – 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 tsp. cardamom powder
  • pinch of salt

Method:

  1. Melt butter in bottom of a pan and saute grated beetroot over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Fold mawa into pan until fully incorporated. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Fold in sugar, cardamom, and salt and mix until fully melted.
  4. Remove from heat and let sit.

Serve warm and garnish with slivered almonds.
