Dhokla

Recipe by Rashmi Ankalikar

Ingredients:

  • 1 c Chana dal
  • Green chillies
  • Ginger
  • 1 Tbsp Yogurt
  • pinch Baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Eno

Method:

  1. Soak chana dal for 3-4 hours.
  2. Blend and add oil, salt to taste, green chillies, ginger ½”, yogurt and baking soda. Ferment overnight.
  3. Add Eno. Pour in dhokla moulds and steam for 15 mins.
  4. Cut into squares.
  5. Season with mustard seeds, hing [asofoetida] and kadhi patta.
  6. Sprinkle with coriander leaves and shredded coconut.
  7. Serve warm or cold.
