Ghati Masala Chicken

Ingredients:

  • Chicken breast pieces 3 piece pkt (cut into thirds) & drumsticks 8 pcs
  • 3 large Onions (chopped fine)
  • 2 Tbsp ground Fennel seeds
  • ½ tsp Turmeric
  • 1 Tbsp PP sambar masala 
    (or garam masala: 1 tsp each ground cloves, cinnamon, cardamom ground)
  • 2 Tbsp Garlic paste
  • 2 Tbsp Ginger paste
  • 5-6 Green chillies
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves
  • 1 frozen packet Coconut
  • 2 tsp Mint leaves (dried)
  • 1 small container Sour cream (fat free) (or yogurt)

Method:

  1. Sauté onions till golden brown. Add dry spices. Mix.
  2. Add garlic and ginger and continue to brown.
  3. Blend coriander, chillies and coconut with a little water in the blender till smooth. Add to the onions.
  4. Slowly place chicken pieces in the pan and cover with the gravy and spices.
  5. Add water slowly as needed. Add salt to taste.
  6. Bake in the oven at 350 F for 45 min.
  7. Smoothen the sour cream with some gravy and add to the dish. Mix well.
  8. Bake for another 15 min.
  9. Check to see for doneness. Remove from oven. Serve warm.

Serves 6.
